140 Years of Mercedes‑Benz.

In 2026, Mercedes‑Benz celebrates 140 years of automotive innovation, tracing its origins back to 1886 with Karl Benz’s invention of the world’s first motor car. Since then, the brand has continually redefined mobility—setting benchmarks not only for luxury and performance, but for safety and technological leadership.

Mercedes‑Benz has shaped the history of motoring through many of the industry’s most significant safety innovations. From inventing the crumple zone and introducing the airbag, to pioneering seatbelt and occupant protection technologies, these advancements have gone on to benefit vehicles across the entire automotive industry. Together, they reflect a long‑standing commitment to safeguarding drivers, passengers and all road users.

At Mercedes‑Benz Toorak, we were proud to commemorate this milestone with a large‑scale celebratory sales event—a rare and unique moment for the brand. It allowed us to honour 140 years of progress while sharing the occasion with our customers in a meaningful and memorable way.

As Mercedes‑Benz looks to the future of electric mobility and digital innovation, this anniversary stands as a powerful reminder of the brand’s enduring influence—and the journey still ahead.

Mercedes‑Benz Pride on Display at the Australian Grand Prix.

The Mercedes‑Benz Petronas Formula One Team delivered a confident and composed performance at the Australian Grand Prix, reinforcing the brand’s enduring presence at the pinnacle of motorsport. Racing in Melbourne always carries special significance, and the weekend once again showcased what Mercedes‑Benz stands for — performance, precision and progress.

Leading the team is George Russell, whose role as senior driver continues to grow. Known for his technical feedback, consistency and calm race craft, Russell demonstrated strong leadership throughout the weekend.

Alongside him, Andrea Kimi Antonelli represents the future of the sport. One of the most highly regarded young talents in Formula One, Antonelli’s progression highlights Mercedes‑Benz’s long‑term commitment to nurturing the next generation.

Together, the pairing embodies a balance of experience and fresh potential — a combination that mirrors Mercedes‑Benz’s broader philosophy of combining heritage with innovation.

Beyond results on the track, Mercedes‑Benz continues to stand for something greater. The brand’s identity is built on engineering excellence, continuous innovation and a legacy that extends far beyond the circuit. Being associated with a name so deeply respected across global motorsport remains a point of genuine pride for Mercedes-Benz Toorak.

Mercedes-AMG makes history at Bathurst 2026.

Mercedes‑AMG produced one of the most memorable results in Bathurst 12 Hour history in 2026, pulling off a remarkable victory after starting almost at the back of the grid. In a race packed with drama, strategy twists and late‑race tension, Mercedes‑AMG Team GMR went from 29th on the grid to first at the finish — a first at Mount Panorama.

The team’s #888 Mercedes‑AMG GT3, driven by Maxime Martin, Maro Engel and Mikaël Grenier, kept its nose clean in a chaotic race that included wildlife strikes, fiery crashes and a long red‑flag stoppage. After 262 laps, Martin brought the car home in front of more than 55,000 spectators, winning by just 1.037 seconds in a nail‑biting sprint to the line.

This year’s race was one of the toughest in recent memory, with constant interruptions and changing conditions forcing teams to rethink their strategies on the fly. While others ran into trouble, the Mercedes‑AMG GT3 proved both fast and reliable, allowing Team GMR to steadily work their way through the field.

The 2026 Bathurst 12 Hour featured the biggest grid since 2020, with 34 GT3 cars and a record 10 Mercedes‑AMG entries, underlining the brand’s strong presence in global endurance racing. For Mercedes‑AMG, the result was more than just a win — it was a reminder of the importance of teamwork, patience and consistency at one of the world’s most demanding race tracks.

Winning from 29th at Mount Panorama is no small feat, and this victory has already earned its place among the great Bathurst stories.
