Mercedes-Benz Toorak are proud to support The Melbourne Tigers Basketball Club. The club is one of Australia's premier sporting brands, and has been in existence for nearly 80 years.

In that time, the Club has been a dominant force in the development of Australian basketball.

The Tigers inaugural NBL season was 1984. The Club has experienced much success, especially in recent times, winning four championships and progressing to the grand final on four other occasions:

Numerous Tigers players and coaches have received the highest accolades from the NBL's awards, including Coach of the Year, Most Valuable Player, Defensive Player of the Year and Best Sixth Man.

The Melbourne Tigers Basketball Club encompasses not only the NBL men's team, but also the Big V (ABA) Championship Men, Women and Youth League Women's teams, along with a Junior Girl's Club which provide pathway and development programs for a variety of age groups and genders. The Tigers Big V Men's team took out the championship in the 2008 and 2009 seasons.

Basketball has one of the highest participation rates of any team sport in Australia and the world, with numbers continuing to grow each year, and is definitely on an exciting strong upward trend. In Victoria alone, it is estimated that over 300,000 people are registered participants of basketball.
